Officials from the University of Missouri and the City of Columbia visited the Columbia-based company Nanova Inc. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017. UM System Interim President Michael Middleton and others toured the facility and participated in product demonstrations after Nanova recently announced $10 million in secured investments in 2016.
Nanova, a high-tech producer and distributor of dental and medical products, was co-founded in 2007 by two MU faculty members, Dr. Hao Li, president of Nanova and MU professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, and Dr. Qingsong Yu, vice president of Nanova and MU professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. The company’s vision for a “Better life through Innovation” is realized through the commercialization of their MU research.
Nanova operates out of a $1.5 million state-of-the-art facility in Columbia, Missouri and maintains a strong relationship to the University of Missouri, producing quality products by utilizing technology and talents from faculty researchers and students.
The additional $10 million in 2016 brings total investments in Nanova Inc. to $19 million since its founding.
