Entrepreneur of the Week 4

This week, our Office is highlighting Dr. Kattesh Katti for his work with medical nanotechnology. These nanoparticles can be used in medicine to detect certain types of cancer cells and related tumors. We will be highlighting 1 more innovative entrepreneur next week. Video profiles were created, compiled, and previewed at the MU Entrepreneurial Recognition Breakfast in celebration of MU technologies and faculty.

Week 4: Dr. Kattesh Katti 

Katti’s research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and industrial corporations for over 20 years. He came to MU in 1990 after he was awarded the internationally prestigious fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Göttingen in Germany for his research from 1985 to 1987.
In recognition of research in basic sciences with biomedical implications, he has been awarded several other awards at the national and international levels including induction as a fellow of The Academy of Science of St. Louis, the 2011 Presidential Economic Development Award from the University of Missouri System, the Outstanding Missourian Award by the Missouri House of Representatives, and the Gauss Award by the Göttingen Academy of Sciences— the fourth United States’ scientist to win this international award.
