Charge to the
MU Economic Development Functional Committees
The Committees meet on a regular basis for planning and communication purposes. Desired outcomes for each committee include a broader awareness of the full range of campus activities in the functional area, and awareness of developments in other functional areas that may result in productive relationships.
Specific activities include:
- Conducting a one-time survey to produce a statement of opportunity and maintaining an inventory of campus-wide activities that fall in the functional area.
- Contributing to a regular web-based newsletter for all campus contributors to the group as well as general public and members of other functional groups.
- Exploring opportunities for joint grant proposals, entrepreneurial ventures, and service activities.
- Exploring and facilitating opportunities to link work with that of other functional units.
- Developing awards and events to assure that individuals’ contributions are appropriately recognized.
- Producing an annual report on key accomplishments and setting out goals for the following year.
