Software Supports and Improves Patient Care

The program, known as OBERD, was developed based on MU professor’s research.

Patient Care

Universal Research Solutions, a Columbia-based health solutions company, developed a software system, known as OBERD, for physicians and hospitals to collect data needed to make better decisions about a patient’s healthcare.

In 2010, Dr. Ali Hussam, a former University of Missouri faculty member of 21 years, co-founded the company based on his research at MU. Through OBERD, healthcare institutions are able to collect optimal patient-reported outcomes data, and through electronic delivery at the patients convenience, help the institutions provide better service and meet compliance requirements.
