Columbia Startup Weekend

Bill Turpin and the Tenant Loop Team.

Tenant Loop Team

Columbia Startup Weekend was created to bring the local entrepreneurial community together so ideas can spark and startup magic can happen. Ideas are pitched, teams are formed, and the weekend is spent diving into making those ideas a reality. The startups are assisted by great local business leaders who serve as mentors. At the end of the weekend, the teams present their businesses to panel of judges and the top three teams are named.

This event was held September 11-13 in Columbia and these three top start-up businesses were awarded honorable mention:

       1. Med Net

       2.Al Core

       3. Pakity

 The three winning teams were:

       1. Staffed Up – An online HR system that connects restaurant owners and managers with people applying for that type of work.  The new business will organize and    keep track of applicants for retail food business establishments and may expand to other retail stores in the future.

       2. ESportsBooth – a on-line T-shirt shop aimed at on-line gamers

       3. Tenant Loop – An on-line data base management system to connect rental landlords and tenants

The number One Start-up business, Staffed Up, won $2000 along with other mentorship prizes.

Congratulations to all the winners and to all of the entrepreneurs who pitched their ideas!
