Wallace H. Coulter Foundation

Coulter Program Awards

MU researchers have developed a gold nano-red based diagnostic kit that could help physicians better determine a course of treatment for patients with certain types of cancer

Chancellor's Welcome

The University of Missouri is proud to celebrate the first translational research projects funded by its partnership with the Wallace H. Coulter foundation.  The $5 million partnership is advancing biomedical innovation by uniting physicians and engineers.  Together, these scientists are developing new products and services to improve the lives of patients.

The Coulter Foundation and MU believe in facilitating translational - or bench to bedside - research.  Mizzou Advantage, its One Health, One Medicine initiative, and the MU Institute for Clinical and Translational Science invest in efforts to bring discoveries made at laboratory benches to the bedsides of patients in the form of new methods for treating, preventing and managing disease.

Our investment builds MU's unique resources for advancing biomedical innovation.  We are one of the few universities in the nation with schools and colleges of medicine, engineering, nursing, health professions, veterinary medicine, agriculture, business and a comprehensive academic medical center all on the same campus.

These resources helped MU become one of 15 academic institutions in the country and the only university in Missouri selected to establish a Coulter Translational Partnership Program.  MU also is one of only 34 public universities to be selected for membership in the Assocation of American Universities, which includes only the nation's leading research institutions.

Talented scientists are our university's most valuable resoruce for research.  With support from organizations like the Coulter Foundation, our scientists will continue to translate their discoveries into a better future for everyone.
