Corporate Connections

The Kit Bond Strategies (KBS) Corporate Connections Program took place on February 28th, 2013 at the Adams Pointe Conference Center in Blue Springs, Mo.  The Blue Springs Economic Development Corporation (BSEDC), University of Missouri, Burns & McDonnell, and ATK (Alliant Techsystems Inc.) were all proud supporters of this event to establish collaboration and unique benefits between the University of Missouri, Blue Springs, and the Greater Kansas City Area.  The primary host, Blue Springs EDC, exists to promote business development and investment, creation of jobs, and support economic development in the City of Blue Springs. 

The purpose of this event was three-fold:

  • Provide relevant information on MU's key advantages for businesses in the Greater Kansas City Area
  • Seek collaborative opportunities between Kansas City organizations and MU
  • Consider possible partnerships between Kansas City Organizations and MU at the Mizzou Center within the planned Missouri Innovation Park in Blue Springs

Approximatley 55 representatives from various organizations were present.

Over 70 representatives from various organizations were present.

All four Mizzou Advantage initiatives: Food for the Future, Media of the Future, One Health/One Medicine, and Sustainable Energy were represented and the facilitators each presented information on possible collaborative opportunities between the business community and Mizzou.
